McLinky Blog Hop – Time To Laugh 8/24/2009

Hi Targeteers!

Hubby is having surgery Tuesday morning. We have to travel to have it done, so we are leaving Monday afternoon. He’s having some work done on his nose. There will be the repair of a deviated septum (sp) and whatever else that they can do to help him breathe. Since he is a CPAP user, he’ll go straight to ICU for observation. We are told that he’ll be released on Wednesday once he is seen by the doctors and we’ll return home. If he is not feeling so swell, I’ll take him to the hotel and stay until he is well enough to travel the 2+ hours home.

I’m taking my netbook with me, but I have no idea how much online time I’ll have. While I’m away, how about something fun? I found this to keep you busy and put a smile on your face. A blog hop! Follow along and visit some new blogs.

This week may not be very normal around ATS. Hubby is having surgery on Tuesday morning. He’s having some work done on his nose so he can breath better. We’ll leave tomorrow after he gets home from work and travel a couple of hours so we can be at the hospital at 6 am on Tuesday. I can’t even remember when I got up THAT early in a long time. My guilty pleasure is ice-cream. I could eat it every day, if my waistline wouldn’t object.

I manage my weight by counting the number of calories I consume a day. I shoot for 1700 a day, which is what is recommended for my height. I also workout very hard a few times a week.

A diet secret I use, is to drink a big glass of water whenever I have a craving for something. Oftentimes your body thinks it’s hungry, but really it’s just thirsty. I make sure to drink at least 64 oz of water every day.

Oh, I have too many guilty pleasures! I definitely have a weakness for ice cream and chocolate. I wish they would make Fiber One ice cream. Sometimes I freeze the yogurt cups and that is a good treat!

I walk to get exercise and garden.

My tip is to watch portions, exercise daily, sneak in exercise by taking the stairs, parking out further on parking lots, and shopping in lots of big stores like Target, etc. and walking around with your cart:) That must burn at least 50 calories!~

My guilty pleasure is Dr. Pepper. I can’t drink coffee, and I don’t care for tea. So DP is my go-juice!

I walk with a friend of mine. I feel like when I have an appointment with someone I have to go. Walking with a friend makes me feel like I can’t back out.

My tip is to drink lots of ICE water. When you drink cold beverages your body works harder to digest it. This is a tip I read a long time ago, and it really seems to help!

NOTE: I have reservations about this product. I have read a couple of accounts of the bar coming out of the enclosure that sticks to the side of the drum of your dyrer. If that happens, you’ll have to clean the drum of your dryer so you don’t have clothes ruined. You can do two things to possibly help stop this. One, take a little alcohol and clean the spot where you plan on attaching. Two, double check to make sure the enclosure is snapped shut and closed securely.
